FAM Construction, LLC is a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman and Allan Myers. Ferrovial has been active in the North American transportation industry since 1999. Ferrovial's experience includes some of the largest, most complex transportation projects in the United States. Allan Myers is the largest heavy civil construction company and materials provider in the Mid-Atlantic.

Together they have been awarded the Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project, this project involves multi-modal improvements to 22.5 miles of I-66 corridor from I-495 in Fairfax County to University Boulevard in Prince William County. The project features two express lanes alongside three regular lanes in each direction, with space in the median for future transit; corridor-wide bike and pedestrian improvements; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges throughout the corridor.

Role Summary:

The position of Human Resources Generalist will administer of Human Resources policies and procedures under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.

Duties:

  • Works directly with and reports to the HR Manager regarding all HR matters;
  • Supports HR Manager in educating employees on company policies
  • With assistance from the HR Administrator and Payroll Manager, be a vital source of human resources information answering any questions employees have.
  • Support initiatives for training, development, and succession planning.
  • Assists the recruiter in the full cycle recruiting process including: posting jobs, creating job descriptions, advertisement, interviewing, negotiation and offer processes, etc.
  • Participate in benefits plan design before annual open enrollment.
  • Assists with benefits and 401K administration including new hires, change reporting, and answering general questions
  • Ensure compliance with EEO and Civil Rights.
  • Participate in the development of compensation and benefit plans and structures.
  • Assists with performance management tasks, including annual salary review, development process and bonus administration
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with multiple departments
  • Fosters positive employee relationships and works to solve any employee issues that surface or are brought to your attention.
  • Resolve employee relations issues including disciplinary action and termination.
  • Administer human resources compliant with company policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations.
  • Helps with new-hire onboarding: including organizing employee orientations, creating new employee files, administering the handbook, I9 verification, ensuring all the necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate department.
  • Assists in the administration of employee off-boarding activities
  • Create organizational charts for projects.
  • Create reports for various and numerous needs related to personnel, metrics, and statistics.
  • Organizes, maintains and updates employee HRIS information as needed
  • Ensures all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as data entry, meeting agendas and notes, and employee action notices.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred. A combination of experience and education may be considered for equivalency of a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience of progressive responsibility in similar positions.
  • HRCI or SHRM Certification preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of generalist level experience with 500+ employees
  • Experience in the heavy civil construction industry
  • Thorough understanding of Labor Law and EEO regulations.
