FAM Construction, LLC is a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman and Allan Myers. Ferrovial has been active in the North American transportation industry since 1999. Ferrovial's experience includes some of the largest, most complex transportation projects in the United States. Allan Myers is the largest heavy civil construction company and materials provider in the Mid-Atlantic.

Together they have been awarded the Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project, this project involves multi-modal improvements to 22.5 miles of I-66 corridor from I-495 in Fairfax County to University Boulevard in Prince William County. The project features two express lanes alongside three regular lanes in each direction, with space in the median for future transit; corridor-wide bike and pedestrian improvements; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges throughout the corridor.

Role Summary

We are currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to join our Environmental team. This role oversees environmental compliance during the construction phase of the project and is responsible for site inspections and compliance with environmental regulations. 


  • Conducts daily on-site environmental monitoring of field and construction activities associated with the Transform 66 P3 Project to ensure compliance with applicable laws, permits and other environmental commitments;
  • Prepares documentation (example: daily & weekly field monitoring reports) for all field and construction activities monitored, and reports any violations or non-compliance with any environmental laws, rules or regulations or any other environmental commitments;
  • Makes recommendations for corrective action where violations are discovered;
  • Inspects the VPDES for general construction activities permit and maintains SWPPP binder;
  • Monitors the installation of best management practices (BMPs) erosion/sediment control devices according to the released-for-construction plans as well as adequacy of those controls being installed;
  • Updates the design sheets and permit forms in order to ensure permit compliance; and
  • Performs other duties as required.  


  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • OSHA 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, VDEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector certification, or the ability to obtain such certifications in the first 3 months of employment;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; and
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
